Love reading about last weekend’s Creative Writing Workshop facilitated by Tarek Wazni for The Poetry Shop in Suva, Fiji! Vinaka vakalevu to Tarek and all the participants - it looked like an awesome and uplifting day!
Come through to @freshgalleryotara next Wednesday 22 March from 5.30pm - local artist, Leilani Kake and I will be sharing some stories from Fresh Gallery Ōtara’s early days alongside Fa’anānā @efesocollins to offer some context to the call for submissions on Auckland Council’s 2023/24 draft budget that would see $36.5m cut from regional arts, events and community initiatives.

Friends of Fresh and Fresh Gallery Ōtara invites to you come along to a lively and real talk discussion about the Auckland Council draft budget (2023/2024) from the perspective of Southside locals Ema Tavola, Leilani Kake and Efeso Collins.
Only one more day to see WHENUA / WHENUA at @timmelvillegallery - an absolutely beautiful show featuring work by Margaret Aull, Hiria Anderson-Mita, Aimee Ratana, Natalie Robertson, Maraea Timutimu, Nephi Tupaea and Raukura Turei ✨🙌🏽✨

Thinking heaps about the late Fat Studies scholar, Dr Cat Pausé and having a few wild thoughts of driving down to Palmerston North to see the exhibition of Cat’s Fat Liberation photographs by photo activist Substantia Jones. Looks so, so good and LUCKY Palmerston North!
Whilst we recover and decompress, reflect and count beans, a sweet reminder of the tip of the iceberg of people-ing that was done last week for Aotearoa Art Fair!
