Both issues 1 and 2 were art directed by Edgar Melitao.

SOUTH Issue 2 was launched at the opening of Concealed Ancestors, a solo exhibition by Margaret Aull curated by Nigel Borell and Ema Tavola for Papakura Art Gallery. The artist is featured as a page work contributor.

Each issue of SOUTH was printed as a single limited edition and originally distributed for free in local arts facilities and libraries. SOUTH has no advertisements and issue 2 is 47 full-colour pages.
