Our #VunilagiVouStudio has had a few test runs but it is finally complete with these custom tables made by the excellent #SeanKerrigan, who designed and fitted out Vunilagi Vou. We love the calming vibes from the @duluxnz Ashhurst feature walls. Tonight is our first #TeReoToiToko gathering in the #VunilagiVouStudio! @leilanikake is facilitating a reo Māori only discussion space using our current exhibition, #FAFSWAG6 as a starting point for conversation... this event is ideal for Māori language learners interested in meeting others on their language learning journey and looking for opportunities to flex their skills and vocabulary! The #VunilagiVouStudio is officially being launched this month with the announcement of a series of free community workshops running from October to November! This initiative has been inspired and supported by the excellent investment #MāngereŌtāhuhuLocalBoard makes in our local arts ecology - a big vinaka vakalevu! In November we are thrilled to be hosting the *first* joint exhibition of #Ōtāhuhu creative duo, @lissy.cole and @rudi_friday entitled “Sweet Jungle of Mine”! Ema had a quick trip to Fiji en route to Hong Kong this week for the exciting @parasite.hk conference starting today, and locked in the New Zealand launch of the book project “The Legend of Tanovo and Tautaumolau” written by Kaliopate Tavola as part of an epic #Dravuni village engagement project involving drawing workshops, storytelling, exhibition making and even church preaching! We’re super excited to launch this special bilingual book title at #VunilagiVou next month and host Kaliopate for a storytelling slash community engagement master class in the new #VunilagiVouStudio!
