Pleased to have caught the artist talanoa and last day of “Good Hair Day” at @tautaipacificarts in central Auckland, an exhibition featuring beautiful work by Bai Buliruarua, Māia Piata Rose Week, Nââwié Tutugoro, Karlin Morrison Raju and Peter Wing Seeto, curated by Luisa Tora.
A lot can change in 12 years! Biggest love to Hobbsy - Rebecca Ann Hobbs - loved catching up on the ever changing tidal flows of life, from the Ōtara gym and Matafaga nightclub to sharing an office as lecturers at MIT, and now sharing perspectives of the arts industry and the ways creative work brings value outside of the art world. Love it!

Someone gasped at this work the other day and I loved remembering @cypris.afakasi’s accompanying text ending with the image of Hine-nui-te-pō dipping on the Beehive, decimating it with the obsidian teeth in her vagina.

Manukau Institute of Technology’s former campus in the #Otara Town Centre has been left looking derelict, covered in tags, overgrown and a complete eyesore that we have to live with every day. It has been too long, and it’s getting worse all the time.

A big shout out to Tongan artist and entrepreneur Czarina Wilson, who has been building her retail space @celebrate_aotearoa for the past three years and last weekend, celebrated the first anniversary in its amazing space in Glen Innes! Also her first feature in the @nzherald business section 🙌🏽
Loved this so much! Fijian artist-curator @torika_b spoke so beautifully yesterday about @communityreadingroom’s current activation in the form of the exhibition, “Volume: Bodies of Knowledge” currently showing at @counihangallery in Naarm, Australia.
